Recovery
Sometimes our days feel so packed in with
to- do lists that finding time for recovery methods can be a hassle. It
really should be a stress release and is vital for remaining injury free.
Here are 4 methods for recovery and to help your body stay injury free.
1. Use a foam roller. You can find a foam roller at
Target or a sporting good store. The foam roller will work out the muscle
cramps and release any built up tension that our body can hold. Check out
the website: http://www.performbetter.com
2.
Stretch. This can be done anywhere as long as you do a light a warm up of
dynamic stretching first. Then progress to static stretching. For
an even more intense stretch use a resistance band for stretching. I have really enjoyed stretching in the sauna
after a workout on the weekends. My body temperature is higher and I feel
more flexible. It is hard for me to just sit still; so at least I can
clear my skin and get a bit of a workout in.
3. Wear Zensah. I thought that these were a joke until I stopped wearing
them while I was running high mileage on the treadmill. I kept feeling a
pain in my ankle area and I took the time to put my pair on. I did not
notice until after the workout that my pain was not there. The Zensah help
with circulation. By the way they do come in a fashionable pink or
black. Look at the Zensah on the website: http://www.zensah.com
I purchased mine at the RunnerÕs Soul in
Elmhurst, IL. http://www.therunnersoul.com
4. Protein Shake: Recovery nutrition wise is important for the body. We
really like ÒMyolysate,Ó and ÒIso Fort,Ó which is found at Nutrition
Discounters in Villa Park. The Iso Fort has 12 G of BCAAÕs &
Glutamiune and 27 Grams of Protein. http://www.nutritiondiscounters.com

RandyÕs Statement
Sometimes I leave the
house at 6:00 AM and not getting home until 7 PM leaves little time to take
care of my workout regiment, but I still make time to workout 6 – 8 times
a week. Please understand, my job is done more effectively if I am in
shape and I can demonstrate the exercise that is being performed. Icing
is mandatory! If I donÕt ice I will not be able to perform my job to the
best of my ability. For years I would that sit and ice at the end of the
night when both my kids were in bed. The Moji back has developed a way to
ice and compress while still actively performing everyday activities such as
preparing a lunch. With Moji products I donÕt have to Òfit inÓ icing into
an already busy day. I recommend Moji to anyone who is busy and is
serious about workout recovery so performance can be maximized. My wife
uses the knee brace while I use the one for lower back. For more info

The Moji knee brace has
definitely come in handy especially after my strenuous workouts. It fits
firmly around the designated area that needs healing or rehabilitation. The
ice gel pad is really a substitute for a bag of ice, but without the
mess. IÕve been using the Moji knee brace for about a month and already
see improvements with range of motion and overall soreness has decreased.
I highly recommend Moji knee brace to anyone that experiences knee discomfort
because cold therapy is the most natural way to bring inflammation down.
